Acorn Cross Country Championship Race

On your mark… get set… GO! The Manteca Unified Acorn League is hosting their Cross Country Championship race on October 20, 2017 at Woodward Park inside the soccer basin. Beginning at 4:30pm, Board President Stephen Schluer will commence the races by igniting the starter pistol.

Fourth through sixth grade track finalists will race from 1.2-1.3 miles, and seventh through eighth grade track finalists will race from 1.6-1.75 miles for a total of four races. The top three finishers in each race will be awarded a medal and the winning team will receive a championship plaque.

The Acorn league is established to have a developmental sports program in which students learn the fundamentals of the sport, rules and sportsmanship among Manteca Unified elementary schools. The Acorn athletic league is to promote the physical, mental, social, emotional, and moral well-being of the participants. It is the desire of MUSD to prepare students through a positive environment of athletics for an enriching and vital life.

Participation is open to all students regardless of individual differences. Through voluntary participation, the athlete gives time, energy, and loyalty to the sports program. The student also accepts the training, rules, regulations and responsibilities, which are unique to an athletic program.
