Golden West Elementary School was built in 1961. This site was last modernized in 1996—almost twenty years ago—and is now eligible for a new modernization. Currently, there are 21 permanent classrooms and 17 portable ones, as well as many other dilapidated buildings, in need of serious repairs and renovations.
Golden West’s modernization project includes a newly constructed classroom/administration building. This building will be located at the front of the campus next to the current multi-purpose building. It will include three new classrooms primarily for Kindergarten students.
Having the administration building at the front of the site will create a single point of entry for campus visitors. Combined with a new secured perimeter fence, the safety of this campus will be greatly improved.
In addition to the new buildings, a new fire alarm system, drainage system, and improved pavement will be installed. Minor renovations will also be conducted in existing classrooms to fully modernize this site.
