Calla High School is a fully accredited alternative high school that provides an opportunity for students to recover credits if he or she have fallen behind their graduation time-line. Calla High School recently received the highest level of accreditation possible.
(6-Year with a 1-day mid-term review)
Calla is strictly a voluntary program, but is strongly recommended if a student is significantly behind in credits.
Students must be referred from their home high school to attend Calla. Students may petition to return to their home high school when he or she has recovered their lost credits at the beginning of a school year or at semester break. Students transferring from an alternative high school outside of MUSD, may register directly at Calla High School as a like-to-like transfer.
Students may earn as many as 20 credits per grading period, with six grading periods (blocks) during the school year. Students must make a minimum of 15 credits per block to avoid academic probation. Two blocks of less than 15 credits will result in a student being transferred to a different program.
Prospective transfers from the traditional high schools:
Calla High School is a fully accredited high school, receiving another six-year accreditation from Western Association of Schools and Colleges, which is the highest number years possible for a public school.
